Is it possible to make money online right here in Zambia? This is a good question worth investigating, and without further ado let’s find out, shall we?
There are so many advertisements on social media claiming that you can make K3000 or K5000 per day online.
Others claim if you have Airtel or
MTN mobile money accounts, you can make this kind of money. Here are examples
right from Facebook
Sounds enticing, right? Imagine the things you can do with that kind of money? You can surpass a civil servant’s salary within a week.
You can solve all your financial challenges at home like paying rentals, ZESCO (Zambia Electricity Supply Company) and Water bills or buy whatever you want.
You
can go to the movies at Levy Mall, eat fine food and pamper yourself with all
the good things in life.
Does that excite you? You are not alone. Now that’s enough of imagining, let’s get back to reality and ask ourselves. Are these claims true and realistic? Are the proofs of payment real?
Can you really get paid online and be able to withdraw your money from your local bank or mobile money?
Especially in
this era of photoshopping where it’s possible to manipulate pictures and change
figures.
In my investigation, I tried to get in touch with some of
these ad posters to find out how they make money online in Zambia and
specifically how they reach K3000 a day. Here is what I found out:
In order to find out, they usually require you to ask “HOW” or “INFO” in the comments and others require you to just message them privately.
When you get in touch with them, they will simply ask for your whatsapp line and send you referral links to register for Data Entry jobs most of which are scams.
Others will send you their mobile money account and ask you to pay a certain fee to get started. This is where my red flags began flashing.
Think about it, why would you need to pay someone for simply asking how they make money on the internet?
And how would you possibly know that once you pay them they won’t vanish into thin air?
They haven’t shown you how to make money and you haven’t made a single dime online, and they want you to pay them? For what?
It
doesn’t make any sense unless they want to make some quick money at your
expense, in other words, you’re getting duped (scammed).
I’ve already met people who have actually been swindled by these scam artists, so you need to be careful online.
Guard your hard earned money tightly and don’t pay anyone until you are more than satisfied with what you’re getting in return.
Moreover, you don’t even need anyone to sell you
information on how to make money in Zambia because such information is readily
available online.
You don't have to take my word for it. Here is one post I found on google search listing the different ways you can earn money in Zambia legitimately.
You can simply do a google search on how to make money online and you will be presented with thousands of search results showing 100s of ways to make money right on the internet.
You can access this information without paying anyone anything.
So we have established that there are scammers out there who swindle people, but the question that probably still lingers in your head is “Can I make money online in Zambia and be able to withdraw from my local bank?
And the answer to
that question is an emphatic YES. You can make money online, from the comfort
of your home right here in Zambia and I will show you how.
But you need to be realistic with your expectations. It’s highly unlikely that you will become rich overnight. That rarely happens, if ever.
- Internet doesn’t give instant money, stop dreaming.
- Most of the data entry jobs are scams, so don’t even bother. They also take registration fee. Be suspicious of any job that requires you to pay something before getting started.
- There is no fastest way to earn thousands of dollars online. Am not saying it's impossible, but rather highly unlikely
- It will take some time to make money online. You may earn pennies at the beginning before scaling up to the big bucks.
Allow me to digress a bit and show you how probable making money online

Big corporations like Twitter, Facebook, Amazon etc get a huge chunk of their revenue online, mainly through advertisements and product sales in the case of Amazon.
This is a well-known and undeniable fact. These
companies make billions of dollars annually and most of their businesses are
done online. So it is very much possible to make money online.
A simple google search will confirm what I’ve just said. But do you know what’s even more interesting? Ordinary people just like you and I are making money online as well.

Online Banking in Zambia and Payment Platforms
Making money within the Zambian context requires us to get acquainted with online banking.
Major banks like the Zambia National Commercial Bank (ZANACO), First National Bank (FNB) and others have this provision available to their clients online.
You can also consider payment
processing platforms like Paypal, Skrill etc.
The reason why you need to understand how online banking works or a payment platform like Paypal is because this is where the money you earn online will be sent.
I recommend creating an account with Paypal and all
